To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the landmark Woodstock music festival, co-creator Michael Lang has confirmed the event is coming back to upstate New York this summer.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lang confirmed that more than 40 performers had already been booked for the Aug. 16-18 festival.

“We’re going back to our roots and our original intent,” Lang told the magazine.

The three-day festival is said to be coming to Watkins Glen in New York.

“While the original site in Bethel Woods is close to our hearts, it simply doesn’t have the capacity to host our official Woodstock 50 celebration, we’ll soon be announcing a new location that can handle all the (peace, love, music) we’ve got planned, stay tuned,” Land said on Twitter.

More details are expected once tickets go on sale this February.
