The Prince Estate has released the 1984 studio recording of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” with a video that unveils rehearsal footage of Prince and the Revolution.

The song was originally written for a side-project of Prince’s called The Family, and became a worldwide hit for Sinead O’Connor in 1990. This is the first time the studio version of the song has been released, distinct with Prince’s lead vocals and a saxophone solo.

The video shows different snippets of Prince and the Revolution rehearsing – incredible dance moves included!
