The New Brunswick Green Party is joining a coalition of  health groups
in calling for a provincial tax on sugar sweetened drinks.

Green Party leader David Coon says the sugar tax is needed
because 64 per cent of adults in the province
and 36 per cent of children are either overweight or obese.

Coon says money raised from such a tax
could be reinvested into healthy living initiatives.

Diabetes Canada recently joined health groups calling for the tax,
including the Dieticians of Canada, the New Brunswick Medical Society
and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
How would you feel if NOVA SCOTIA implemented
a sugar tax?

(…note: we have NO idea if the province is even considering this idea)
