SCHOOLS:
All Halifax Regional Centre for Education schools are closed. HRCE offices will be closed until at least 12 p.m.

AVRCE – CCRCE – SSRCE all closed as well

CSAP schools in Metro Halifax area are closed Monday.
Sacred Heart has a remote learning day.
Sandy Lake Academy is closed.
Halifax Grammar is closed.
Halifax Christian Academy Armdale and HCA Timberlea Elementary is cancelled.
Shambhala School has cancelled classes.
Mount Saint Vincent University’s on campus services (including the library, fitness centre, book store and health office) are not available. Any classes that are offered only in-person on-campus are cancelled. Online classes will continue, technology permitting.
Saint Mary’s University campus is closed Monday morning with all in-person activities cancelled. Virtual classes will continue as scheduled unless students are informed otherwise.
Dalhousie University’s campus (along with the University of King’s College) will remain closed Monday. Delivery of courses (in-person and online) will be suspended for Monday.
NSCAD campuses are closed. Online classes and remote working will continue as scheduled.
NSCC’s metro campuses (Ivany, Aviation, IT and Akerley) are closed.

TRANSPORTATION:
Halifax Transit service shut down and will not resume until at least 10 a.m. Monday.
The winter parking ban will be enforced between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8.

SERVICES:
All branches and departments of Halifax Public Libraries will delay opening until 2 p.m.
Solid Waste curbside collection of garbage, organics and recyclables has been cancelled for Monday. For residents who would typically have collection on this day, there will be an allowance for double the garbage limits next collection cycle on Monday, Feb. 22.
The materials recycling facility at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr., along with the composting facilities at 80 Gloria McCluskey Ave. in Burnside and 61 Evergreen Place in Goodwood are closed Monday.

Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia offices is closed on Monday for in person services. Workshops or appointments for clients will be online or on the phone.
Workers’ Compensation Board’s Halifax office is closed. Remote services will continue to be provided.
Halifax Water has a delaying opening of offices until noon.
All Canadian Red Cross service centres across Nova Scotia are delayed in opening until at least noon.

RECREATION:
The Halifax Public Gardens is closed.
Many recreation facilities are closed with a possible reopening at noon. Call your local recreation centre for further information.

HEALTH CARE:
All IWK community-based mental health and addictions appointments scheduled for Feb. 8 will be postponed or offered virtually. All patients and families will be contacted.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at 182 Victoria Rd, Dartmouth, NS will be closed until noon. Patients will be contacted regarding their appointments.
The postpartum follow-up clinic at the IWK Health Centre will not be open until 1 p.m.

BUSINESSES:
All NSLC stores will have a delayed of noon.
Mic Mac Mall will delay opening until noon and some retailers may need additional time to safely commute resulting in reduced hours.
The Halifax Shopping Centre will be closed until noon.
Retailers at The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing will open after noon and only at the store’s discretion.
Halifax Shipyard, Marine Fabricators and Woodside Industries will suspend all production activities as of midnight, meaning there’s no backshift (3rd shift) or no dayshift. An update regarding Monday’s second shift will be made no later than 2 p.m. Monday.
Other businesses may be closed or have a delayed opening. It might be a good idea to call ahead.

GOVERNMENT:
All municipal offices are delaying opening until noon
Provincial government offices across the province are delaying opening until at least noon.
