SCHOOLS

-All public schools in the province are closed.
-Sandy Lake academy is closed.
-Armbrae Academy is open, but asks parents or guardians to call the school if a students can’t make it.
-Saint Mary’s University will reopen on Tuesday at 6 a.m. except for the Homburg Centre, which will be closed until at least 1 p.m. More information on the status of Homburg Centre after that time is expected by 11 a.m.
-Classes resume at NSCAD, but some services/classes may be curtailed in the coming days until repairs are complete. A comfort centre will be open at Fountain Campus Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for people to gather, charge their devices, and get a hot drink.
-MSVU is open, but students are asked to check the class cancellation site for individual cancellations.
-Dal is open, but non-essential employees are asked to contact your supervisor or Dean as soon as possible if you are not able to make it to campus for work. Dalplex will be open on Studley Campus in Halifax for staff, faculty and students to freshen up.

BUSINESS

-South Park Street is closed from north side Brenton Place to south side of Spring Garden, including sidewalks. Businesses will be affected and some residents have been evacuated.
Some businesses may still be closed due to damage or power outages.

RECREATION

-HRM is asking residents to stay out of municipal parks until further notice.
-Municipally owned and operated recreation facilities may be closed if they don’t have power, call ahead.

-The Canadian Games Centre is open
-Trails and protected areas across the province may have wash-outs and debris. Check conditions with organizations that manage trails before heading out.

GOVERNMENT

Provincial government offices without power won’t be open, call ahead.
Decisions regarding court operations are made on a case-by-case basis. People are encouraged to call ahead.
