Cancellations and Closures

SCHOOLS :

-All HRSB schools are closed today (Feb. 16, 2017). School board offices will delay opening until 11 am

-Classes cancelled at CSAP schools in Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville, Porters Lake

-All AVRSB schools, offices and worksites closed today due to weather/road conditions

-All SSRSB schools are closed today. Regional office will delay opening until 10:00 a.m.

Chignecto-Central Regional School Board has closed all schools

-Srait Regional School Board has cancelled classes at all schools

-All schools in the Tri-County Regional School Board (Shelburne, Yarmouth and Digby counties) will be closed

NSCC’s metro campuses closed until 11:00 a.m (Classes at 11:30)…they’ll re-assess at 10:00 a.m.

This morning campus’ closed: Shelburne, Digby, Kingstec, AVC, COGS

The Mount is open and operating as usual this morning, Feb 16.

–‘s & campuses and will have delayed openings today. Update at 10am.

-AcadiaU campus will be closed due to weather conditions

Halifax Christian Academy Armdale Campus closed

Sandy Lake Academy will be closed

Sacred Heart is closed today

Halifax Grammar School is closed today

Newbridge Academy will be closed today

TRANSIT:

-Halifax Transit has a number of routes on snow plans Thursday morning, expect delays in the storm

-Kings Transit in the Annapolis Valley will not operate Thursday due to the winter storm

GOVERNMENT AND SERVICES:

DFO offices in Halifax are closed this morning

Provincial Government Offices Delay Opening Today, Feb. 16

the Metro Dispensary in the IWK hospital will not be open until 11 am.

Some facilities incl. arenas delaying opening until 8:30 AM today. Further update by 7 AM. Call ahead to facility

Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia will delay opening their Halifax office until 10 a.m

-The opening of Stadacona, HMC Dockyard, Willow Park, and Windsor Park are delayed until 10:00 a.m. due to winter storm conditions

-Tancook Island ferry service suspended

-The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 will delay opening until noon

Mic Mac Mall will open regular hours today, Thursday Feb 16th. We will continue to be understanding of those retailers delayed in opening.

Halifax Shopping Centre will be open today. Understanding some stores may have delayed openings this morning

United States Consulate General in Halifax will open at 11 a.m., all appointments will be delayed by 3 hours

YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth’s Employment and Immigrant Services centres will open at 11 a.m.

All branches and departments of Halifax Public Libraries will delay opening until 11 a.m. today, update if needed at 9 a.m

CEED offices will delay opening until 11 a.m., if needed, update by 10:30 a.m., is cancelled

Discovery Centre will delay opening until 11 a.m.

The Museum of Natural History will delay opening until 11 a.m.
